We made a thing, and now it’s ready to meet people.
Word Scrapes, the first game from Things People Love, is out now. It’s a word puzzle adventure where the words you find become attacks, the grid becomes a little battlefield, and every level moves you farther along the saga.
In other words: words are your weapons.
This one has been living in our heads, test builds, checklists, sketches, rewrites, and late-night “wait, what if we tried this?” moments for a while now. It started with a simple feeling we wanted to chase: the satisfaction of spotting a word, tracing it, and watching that tiny discovery turn into something with impact.
A swipe becomes a strike. A solved grid becomes progress. A bonus word becomes a little extra spark.
That loop is the heart of Word Scrapes.
We wanted it to feel familiar enough to pick up quickly, but lively enough to have its own pulse. So yes, it’s a word game. But it’s also a quest. There are enemies to face, power-ups to use, bosses to push toward, and a saga map that keeps pulling you forward one battle at a time.
More than anything, we wanted it to feel handmade in the best way. A little bright. A little dramatic. A little playful. The kind of game where a small word can land like a punch.
It also marks a pretty special moment for Things People Love. Word Scrapes is our first release, which means it carries a lot of firsts with it: first public game, first store launch, first real chance to see how people respond outside our own little workshop.
That part is exciting.
We’re proud of what Word Scrapes has become, and we’re grateful for everyone who helped shape it along the way: testers, friends, early players, patient troubleshooters, and the people who believed this odd little word-battle idea was worth chasing.
Now it’s your turn.
Find words. Strike enemies. Conquer the saga.

Thank you for playing our first thing. We hope it gives you that tiny spark we love most: the moment you see the word hiding in plain sight.
